Zantrox and Stockbroker

For a limited time, we are proud to offer a sneak preview of ‘Zantrox and Stockbroker’ – the first spin-off from the Jim and Heinz series. This film was made with Marcus Wilding who played Heinz’s Stockbroker in the film ‘Microfinance’ and Zantrox, a robot that was built by Heinz and subsequently had some mental problems due to Jim supplying the wrong size of memory card. Jim still disputes this claim.

Video is now embedded here.

Ben at the Disposable Film fest – Part 3

Our big day today, as the Disposable Film Fest put on a show of undiluted Jim and Heinz, which was received amazingly well by the crowd at Artists Television Access, who then proceeded to buy a whole bunch of the new J&H DVD   ‘The Burst of Jim and Heinz’ (US release only).   Before the show I gave a 5 minute intro with powerpoint, bringing everyone up to date with a quick history of the picture-story format and the origins of this still successful series.  The film programme contained such well-loved favourites such as ‘Shhh’ and  ‘Heinz’s Halloween Horor’ along with the rarely screened ‘Jim and Heinz in the real world’ and ‘LSD’ and finishing off with the world premiere of  ‘Critical Error=True’

After the show there was a Q&A session which threw up some interesting questions which I was sometimes unable to give a straight answer to, such as ‘ how did you come up with the characters?’

Anyway, here’s the powerpoint intro and I’ll post up the Q&A after I’ve scanned it for libellous content.

On an unrelated note I met a Latino guy today who looked exactly like an ageing Henry Winkler (aka the Fonz) who supports Arsenal and likes Benny Hill.

Ben’s report from the Disposable Film Festival – part 2

The DFF kicked off last night with a show of Competition shorts at the Roxie. It was a very strong show with some new work in the Disposable genre that was nothing short of astonishing. Lots of interest for the Jim and Heinz show on Saturday (2pm, ATA) . Tomorrow sees the long-awaited Buttons 2 from New York’s Red Bucket Films. I made a deal with Carlton Evans and Rd Bucket’s Alex Kalman  to present screenings of the DFF ’10 programme and Buttons 2  in London later this year.

I also ate a lamb kebab as big as my forearm (without the hand)

Ben’s report from the Disposable Film Festival – part 1

Hi Blunt Followers

SAN FRANCISCO- The Disposable Film Festival starts tomorrow with a lineup of cool films all made with non-traditional hardware – stuff like digital cameras, flatbed scanners, phones- basically anything that can record an image that isn’t a normal video camera. Being such a progressive bunch they’ve taken a shine to Blunt’s ‘Jim and Heinz’ series- to the extent that they invited me and Peter Waldeck here to put on a special Jim and Heinz show.

Unfortunately Peter can only make it in 2D form, but I’ll be representing the J & H crew on Saturday, including such treats as a live powerpoint history of the picture story format and the world premiere of the new Jim and Heinz: ‘Critical Error=True’

Anyway, I’ve been here about 8 hours, eaten some pretty decent Chinese food and found the only cash machine that doesn’t charge you for withdrawing money. Unfortunately I found it right after being charged $3 for taking some money out of a different machine. I also made an arse of myself on a bus because since the last time I came here they raised the fares and I didn’t know and thought I had the correct change when in fact I didn’t.

I’ll put some video footage up later. (ie when I’ve taken some)

The Horror of Halloween at last…

To be precise, Heinz’s Halloween Horror. What starts as a simple game with a few plastic dinosaurs quickly degenerates into multiple murder and extra-dimensional confusion- and where does Tarantino fit into all of this?

Heinz’s Halloween Horror just showed at London’s Exploding Cinema to a rapturous crowd and heralds a chapter in the life of Jim and Heinz, a pair of confused, deluded and lazy people… If you enjoy the film, check out one of the 14 others made.

Critical error? Can this be true?

Jim and Heinz encounter a small setback in 'Critical Error=True'

Jim and Heinz encounter a small setback in 'Critical Error=True'

Now wrapped and in the edit… the latest Jim and Heinz film ‘Critical Error=True’ will be a metaphysical search for the source of the Internet, and in particular Heinz’s lost 80,000 word article on why Jacky Chan should be the next Dr. Who. The film is the first to be shot on location in Hungary and will be the final episode in the current run before the release of the long-awaited third volume of Jim and Heinz on DVD.  Screening info coming soon (or whenever the film’s finished, which may not be that soon at all)
