I love the way this begins with what looks like a tutorial about the possibilities of animation but becomes a study of the narrators neurotic relationship with his father. Written and performed by Louis CK
As I’ve been talking about using photos in animation, here’s a perfect example of what can be achieved. This is a compilation of Cyriaks Gif animations.
I’ve deviated from the usual Blunt Film Choice parameters which are to pick short films made on low budgets. I just couldn’t help putting this sketch from Mr. Show up. This is just such a great sketch with the one advert playing off of the next…
To celebrate the forth coming Blunt Production Extreme Haunting we’ve chosen a ghost themed video for this weeks pick. This is from the same guys that brought you all the big foot videos.
I love these type of videos where somebody cuts up a televised speech and completely fucks it up. Chris Morris is an obvious example but take a look at this fantastic re-edit of David Cameron…
There are quite a lot of these items out there, where somebody has taken an original film and made it look like it’s a totally different film by recutting the trailer. Here’s an example Uncle Buck recut as a horror movie…
Here’s another one where somebody has recut Blue Velvet to look like it’s some whackey comedy…
Here’s another one that makes Kevin from Home Alone look like he’s an out of control Sociopath…
Here’s an example of an animation that’s really thinking outside of the box. SeeĀ more of the artist’s (Blu) work at his website here: http://www.blublu.org/
I know this is a movie that somebody has ripped and posted but I absolutly love Jan Svankmajer animations. This is just a brilliant example of his work. What could be better than watching lots of claymation footballers carve each other up in all different ways? Death by toy train anybody? I’ve got my own ideas but I’d like somebody else to write in and tellĀ me what they think it all means.
